PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
A&M SCOTLAND AND SCOTTISH COMMUNITY CHARITY OF THE YEAR AWARD (10 December 2015)

Motion Details

That this House applauds the charitable work of A&M Scotland and its founding directors Robert McHarg and Andy McLaren; notes that A&M has been honoured as the Scottish Community Charity of the Year by Charity Champions 2015; further notes that since being established in 2009, this Glasgow North East-based charity now works with up to 1500 young people every week with the aim of diverting them from potentially negative activities such as alcohol or drug misuse and gang membership; praises A&M for providing positive pursuits for young people completely free of charge to encourage healthy and active lifestyles such as sports, dance, volunteering, employability and personal development sessions; and congratulates A&M on its admirable #AchieveMore motto which promotes the development of the personal and social skills of young people throughout Glasgow, whilst encouraging them to become active citizens within their communities.
