PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SMOG IN MALAYSIA AND INDONESIA (26 October 2015)

Motion Details

That this House notes with concern the unprecedented levels of smog affecting Malaysia and its neighbouring countries of Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines; further notes that the smog is now forcing schools to close and is having a detrimental impact on people's health; calls for the authorities in both Malaysia and Indonesia to take immediate action, with support from the UN, to clamp down on the illegal forest fires causing the smog; and urges the Government to work with its Malaysian and Indonesian counterparts to resolve this issue.
