PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
WELFARE OF LAYING HENS (13 October 2015)

Motion Details

That this House expresses grave concern for the welfare of laying hens kept in enriched cages; recognises that there is marginal gain in the use of these cages over EU banned battery cages and that they do not fulfil the physical and behavioural needs of the hens; and calls on the Government to consider implementing further legislation on cages to improve the welfare of such birds.
