PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
ST KILDA SWIM 2015 (9 September 2015)

That this House congratulates the members of the St Kilda swim team 2015 who swam from St Kilda to Hushinish on Harris, a distance of 60 miles; notes that seven swimmers swam for 35 hours accompanied by three kayakers and a three-person support boat crew; further notes they raised over £16,000 for Yorkhill Hospital, Aberlour Child Trust, the Fisherman's Mission and the Leanne Cystic Fibrosis Trust; notes also that this is the first time that this feat has been accomplished; and congratulates Motherwell resident John Dyer, a retired firefighter and grandfather, who took part.
