CONTRIBUTION OF COMMONWEALTH COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD WARS (15 July 2015)

Motion Details

That this House warmly welcomes the We Won the War exhibition at Leicester's Race Equality Centre, which has been shortlisted for the final seven in the heritage category of the National Lottery Awards; notes that this ground-breaking exhibition highlights the story of the African, Caribbean and Asian contributions to the First World War; believes that the sacrifice and contribution of Commonwealth citizens should form a key component of UK education and narrative of the First and Second World Wars; and calls for the establishment of a permanent monument for the Commonwealth citizens who fought on the side of the UK in the World Wars.
