PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
TRIDENT MAIN GATE DECISION (8 July 2015)
Motion Details
That this House notes that the Main Gate decision on Trident replacement is expected to take place in the lifetime of this Parliament; considers that at a time of continuing reductions in public spending the procurement cost of at least £25 billion for replacing Trident could be better spent in the Ministry of Defence and across other departments; further notes that the estimated total lifetime cost of Trident replacement is more than £100 billion; and urges the Government to cancel plans to replace Trident.
