PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
MULTILATERAL DISARMAMENT (26 May 2015)

Motion Details

That this House supports the Secretary of State for Defence, the right hon. Member for Sevenoaks, when he said in a parliamentary debate in January 2015 that the Government shares the vision of a world that is without nuclear weapons, achieved through multilateral disarmament (Official Report, 20 January 2015, column 105); welcomes the assurance of the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, the hon. Member for Bournemouth East, in a departmental press release on 23 May 2015 that the Government retains a commitment to a world without nuclear weapons; and calls on the Government to enter the Trident nuclear weapons system into immediate multilateral nuclear disarmament negotiations to fulfil these commitments.
