PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
MESOTHELIOMA BILL EXCLUSIONS (3 June 2013)

Motion Details

That this House whilst welcoming the Government's introduction and progress of the Mesothelioma Bill, HL Bill 3, is critical that it excludes 50 per cent of all asbestos victims, victims of asbestos-related lung cancer, asbestosis and pleural thickening who were diagnosed prior to 25 July 2012, the date on which the Minister for Welfare announced the scheme; believes such a decision is unacceptable, untenable, unjustifiable and arbitrary; and calls for this element of the Bill to be withdrawn forthwith.
