PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SUDDEN ARRHYTHMIC DEATH SYNDROME AND DEFIBRILLATORS (6 February 2013)
Motion Details
That this House expresses deep concern at the number of people dying in Britain each year as a result of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADs); notes that this condition can affect people aged between 12 and 35 years old; further notes that SADs can be detected by simply having an ECG test and that screening is vital in detecting the condition early; and believes that the Government should commission independent research into the life-saving benefits of introducing defibrillators in all schools and public buildings.
