PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (16 March 2011)

Motion Details

That this House supports the Government's aspiration to be the greenest ever; recognises the Sustainable Development Commission's progress to date in monitoring and increasing the sustainability of Government work; is concerned that the abolition of the Sustainable Development Commission on 31 March 2011 will prevent the Government from succeeding in its environmental aspirations; and calls on the Government to reconsider its policy on the Sustainable Development Commission and to negotiate with relevant trade unions to make sure hard working staff and expertise in this area are not lost.
