PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
HARRY TOUT (8 February 2011)

Motion Details

That this House notes and congratulates Harry Tout of Guisborough, Cleveland, on reaching his 90th birthday; further notes that he has been a lifelong member of the Labour Party, fought for his country and democracy against Nazism and fascism during World War II, helped to sustain the Labour Party and trade union movement in his birth town of Lewes, in Falkirk and for the last 50 years in Guisborough, saw that past and present Labour members of the House gained their seats and served loyally as a Labour councillor and former Mayor of the Town of Guisborough; and salutes him as a fine example of the citizen who played a role in creating a peaceful post-war welfare state for the UK.
