PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
DEATH OF NAT LOFTHOUSE OBE (17 January 2011)

That this House is saddened by the news of the death of Nat Lofthouse OBE, the Lion of Vienna, Bolton Wanderers and England footballer; recognises the valuable contribution that Nat Lofthouse made to football, providing years of entertainment and enjoyment for millions of fans; notes that Nat dedicated his career to one club, Bolton Wanderers, from the age of 14 years until his retirement from playing in 1960; further recognises his 505 first-class appearances for Wanderers and his 285 goals; sends sincere condolences to his family and fans; and pays tribute to this outstanding sportsman.
