WIRRAL PENINSULA (18 July 2010)
Motion Details
That this House celebrates the cultural heritage of the Wirral Peninsula and all those who work to preserve it; expresses concern that a register of historical buildings on Wirral has not been completed despite Wirral Council having agreed to its creation in consultation with the Wirral History and Heritage Association; notes that 156,071,758 has been awarded by the Lottery Heritage Fund to the North West in the last five years; further notes with concern that Wirral has received only 0.85 per cent. of the regional amount; and calls on the Government to take steps to support Wirral in perserving its cultural heritage given the possibility of boosting Wirral's economy through tourism.
