PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
EQUITABLE LIFE COMPENSATION SCHEME (18 July 2010)

Motion Details

That this House calls on the Government to implement the Parliamentary Ombudsman's recommendations on Equitable Life, including the establishment of an independent body to determine the relative loss of the victims, allowing policyholders and their representatives to have the opportunity to scrutinise and challenge calculations and conclusions and the recommendations that policyholders should be compensated for any losses which would not have been suffered had they invested elsewhere, a figure calculated at around 4.7 billion.
