PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PROHIBITION OF TICKET TOUTING (12 July 2010)
Motion Details
That this House believes that tickets for major sporting and cultural events should be available to all customers at face value with all profits generated by ticket sales being returned to the organisations, athletes, artists and venues involved in staging them; and therefore supports the introduction of legislative proposals similar to those introduced for the sale of Olympic tickets which would prohibit the resale of tickets at prices greatly above face value denying unscrupulous vendors the chance to make themselves a small fortune at the expense of genuine fans, as well as encouraging the ongoing development of fan to fan ticket exchange sites.
