PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Poll Tax and Student Spouses (16 July 1990)

Motion Details

That this House is outraged by another unjust anomaly in the poll tax regulations that prevents a spouse whose sole income is child benefit from obtaining any poll tax rebate and being liable to a 100 per cent. payment if his or her own spouse is a registered student liable to pay 20 per cent. of their poll tax and is therefore unable to claim any normal rebate; and calls upon the Government to remove the offending regulations forthwith.
