GOVERNMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY (9 October 2007)

Motion Details

That this House believes that honesty, truth, transparency and accountability are essential to democracy; and welcomes the Prime Minister's recently stated aims in the Green Paper "The Governance of Britain" to `forge a new relationship between Parliament and citizen ... towards a new constitutional settlement... making the Government and our elected representatives more accountable to the people', with the aim of reasserting confidence in this country's democratic processes.
