PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
MADAGASCAR NATIONAL DAY 26th JUNE 2007 AND CONSERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY (25 June 2007)

Motion Details

That this House commends the government of Madagascar for its remarkable efforts to conserve the unique biodiversity of its country through the Durban Vision of President Marc Ravalomanana; recognises the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria in supporting conservation in Madagascar by designating the 2007 EAZA conservation campaign as the Arovako i Madagasikara (Conserve Madagascar) campaign; welcomes the aims of the campaign to raise 500,000 euros for 20 different conservation projects on the island in support of the Durban Vision; and joins with the people of Madagascar in celebrating Madagascar National Day on 26th June 2007.
