PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
MEETINGS OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT IN STRASBOURG (12 June 2007)
Motion Details
That this House notes that the European Parliament, which is normally based in Brussels, holds 12 sessions per year in Strasbourg; believes that these monthly removals to Strasbourg are increasingly inconvenient, costly, wasteful, unnecessary and indefensible; thanks the people of Strasbourg for their hospitality over the years; but calls on the Member States to agree that all future sessions of the European Parliament be held in Brussels and that the quarterly meetings of the European Council, which has no alternative base in Brussels, be held in Strasbourg.
