PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SECTARIANISM IN NORTHERN IRELAND (2 May 2007)
Motion Details
That this House warmly welcomes the restoration of devolution and power-sharing in Northern Ireland; recognises that segregation and sectarianism remain deeply engrained in Northern Ireland and that they will only be eroded by generational change; believes that seeking to break down sectarian barriers is the key task facing Northern Ireland and that education is a key area in which this can be achieved; and commends the work of the integrated education movement in seeking to increase the number of integrated schools and also seeking to encourage sharing of facilities and greater contact with other schools.
