PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
DAILY MIRROR AND SEARCHLIGHT'S RECENT HOPE NOT HATE CAMPAIGN (15 April 2007)

That this House congratulates the Daily Mirror and its editor Mr Richard Wallace for sponsoring, and Searchlight for organising, the recent Hope not Hate nationwide tour which thousands of people in towns and cities right across the country supported to make clear their opposition to the bigotry and racism of the British National Party (BNP); and believes the BNP is not a mainstream political party, but a group of extremists trying to stir up division and hatred in those communities they are targeting and that 3rd May will give people the opportunity to speak up for the great British values of democracy, equality, freedom, fairness and tolerance, to make a stand against the BNP and to vote for Hope not Hate.
