GRANDPARENTS' RIGHTS (22 March 2007)
Motion Details
That this House welcomes the campaign by the Townswomen's Guilds and other organisations to raise awareness of grandparent's rights; acknowledges the vital and significant role that grandparents play in children's lives; is concerned about the lack of clarity and understanding of access rights for grandparents; believes that it is essential that grandparents are given information about their rights; recognises that information is key to enabling grandparents to maintain access to their grandchildren; calls on hon. Members to play their part by providing information to grandparents in their constituencies; and calls upon the Government to review current legislation with regard to the role that grandparents play in active family life and childcare and the legal rights of access for grandparents.
