PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PAY AWARDS FOR NURSES AND OTHER PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS (2 March 2007)
Motion Details
That this House believes that NHS nurses are an integral part of the delivery of services, and that patients value their work and contribution with deep sincerity; notes that the Goverment's decision to stagger the pay rises for nurses and other public sector workers means that, instead of receiving the pay review bodies' recommendation of 2.5 per cent., nurses will effectively receive an increase of 1.9 per cent.; and calls upon the Government to rethink its decision to stagger the pay rises so that staff receive the full amount to which they should be entitled at the start of the financial year.
