PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
LATE CORETTA SCOTT KING (2 February 2006)
Motion Details
That this House regrets the sad passing of Coretta Scott King, wife of Dr Martin Luther King, at the age of 78 years; remembers Mrs Kingas a committed and effective campaigner for civil rights and against poverty in her own right, including her promotion of the adoption of Martin Luther King Day in the USA; admires her participation in, and organisation of, peaceful protests against discrimination in often hostile and threatening environments; and sends its sympathies to Mrs King's family.
