MEALS ON WHEELS (31 January 2006)
Motion Details
That this House notes the excellent service provided through the Meals on Wheels service; pays tribute to the work of voluntary organisations such as WRVS and other voluntary groups who organise and distribute hot meals to the elderly and housebound; further recognises the important role that volunteers play in being a contact with the outside world for the recipient of the meal, often taking time to talk and check on their general welfare; and encourages all local authorities to maintain their support and subsidy for Meals on Wheels provision.
