PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
INDEPENDENT MONITORING COMMISSION AND POLITICAL PROGRESS (11 January 2006)

Motion Details

That this House notes that the Independent Monitoring Commission plans to release its latest report on the various paramilitary groups in Northern Ireland shortly; and recognises that if any confirmation of a lack of terror, criminality and racketeering is forthcoming, this will be a welcome step but one which merely gives a snapshot of inactivity during the time under scrutiny and is only an initial step in the long journey that those fronting a terrorist or criminal empire must take if their claims to be law abiding democrats is to be taken seriously.
