PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
ENDING MOON BEAR FARMING (19 December 2005)
Motion Details
That this House congratulates Animals Asia on its successful parliamentary reception on 13th December, which drew further attention to the disgraceful treatment of moon bears by Chinese bear farmers, who keep the bears in horrendously small cages, and implant metal catheters into their gall bladders; notes the unrelenting energy and vigour which Jill Robinson MBE continues to employ in pursuing the heroic task of freeing the bears from their horrific torture; wholeheartedly endorses Animals Asia for saving 200 bears to date; and calls upon the British Government to do all in its power to stop this evil practice, so that the lives of 7,000 bears need not be filled with pain and fear.
