PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
HOSPICES AND PALLIATIVE CARE (12 December 2005)
Motion Details
That this House pays tribute to the unique role local hospices play in enabling people to live independently at the end of life, often within their own homes; recognises the excellent role they provide in advising other health care professionals, including general practitioners, on the provision of palliative care; welcomes the Government's commitment to double the investment in palliative care confirmed at the All Party Parliamentary Hospice and Palliative Care Group meeting in October; and calls on the Government to ensure that this investment is used to maintain hospice services which are so vital to local communities.
