PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SCOTLAND'S DEFINITIVE STAMPS (6 December 2005)

Motion Details

That this House congratulates the Royal Mail on its country definitive stamps; notes however with concern that in Scotland the definitive stamps are not available for sale in retail outlets, which outnumber post offices by three to one, or in tourist centres, and that in consequence public awareness of the stamps is less than 33 per cent.; and calls on Royal Mail to remedy these defects by making the 1st and 2nd class Scottish stamps available in book and self-adhesive format and promoting their availability, such that they fulfil the hope expressed at their launch by the Chairman of the Scottish Post Office Board that they become worthy global ambassadors for Scotland.
