PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PROVISION OF SCHOOL UNIFORM BY THE GET IT 4 SCHOOL SERVICE (6 December 2005)
Motion Details
That this House notes the contribution that school uniforms make to the ethos of school communities, but remains concerned by the high cost burden they impose upon low income families; welcomes, therefore, the launch of Get it 4 School.com, whose provision of an on-line school shop for any school that wants one will enable all schools to have their own uniforms available for purchase over the internet and free home delivery by Get it 4 School; further welcomes Get it 4 School's undertaking to provide this service at no operating profit; and observes that this would enable potentially every school in the country to realise the retail margin and generate substantial revenue at no cost or risk to themselves whilst also facilitating the provision of assistance to low income families.
