PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CHILDREN'S CANCER AWARENESS MONTH (29 November 2005)

That this House notes that December is Children's Cancer Awareness Month; recognises the medical, emotional and financial impact that cancers and leukaemias have on children and young people and their families, friends and carers; congratulates CLIC Sargent for its work as the only national charity dedicated solely to raising awareness of cancers and leukaemia in children and young people, and providing clinical, psychosocial, emotional and financial support services to child cancer patients and their families whether in hospital, at home or in the community across the UK; and urges the Government to raise public awareness of cancers in children and young people, and to ensure that research into effective treatment of these cancers and leukaemias is adequately funded.
