PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
DELAYED TRANSFERS OF CARE AT EAST SUSSEX HOSPITALS TRUST (7 November 2005)

Motion Details

That this House notes with concern that the figure for delayed transfers of care in the East Sussex Hospitals Trust is running at nearly 100 beds or 9 per cent. of the total beds available; further notes that this problem is the worst in the whole NHS and has led to cancelled operations and patients being turned away from Accident and Emergency; further notes that the Trust is required to make cuts of £17 million this year; and calls on the Secretary of State for Health to review urgently the level of Government funding for both health and social services in East Sussex, and in particular to ensure that funding adequately reflects the fact that the county has the highest proportion of over-85 year olds in the country.
