PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
LAUNCH OF THE UNITED KINGDOM LUNG CANCER COALITION (2 November 2005)
Motion Details
That this House notes that lung cancer is the UK's largest cancer killer, resulting in over 36,000 deaths every year; further notes that the disease affects non-smokers as well as smokers; is concerned that a patient's chances of survival can vary by up to four times depending on where they live and the treatment that they are given; congratulates the United Kingdom Lung Cancer Coalition on the launch of its challenge to double five-year patient survival by 2015; and calls on the Government to prioritise improvements in lung cancer awareness, research and treatment so that this achievable challenge can be met.
