PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CONTROL OF FIREWORKS (31 October 2005)
Motion Details
That this House notes with very great concern the large numbers of people who are injured by the misuse of fireworks; whilst not wishing to end community enjoyment, urges the Government to restrict the sale of the most powerful fireworks; believes that requiring all suppliers of fireworks to the public to obtain permission from the local council would tackle the problems of firework misuse and illegal distribution; and calls on the Government to bring forward proposals for restriction on the times of day that fireworks can be used.
