PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
POLICE STATION CLOSURES IN BRENT (25 October 2005)

Motion Details

That this House notes that the Metropolitan Police are currently carrying out a property portfolio report; expresses concern that Willesden Green and Harlesden police stations are reported as being under threat from this review; further notes that police stations provide a valuable community safety resource for reporting crime and providing a feeling of security for local residents; further notes that both police stations are now closing at night due to lack of police resources; believes that scrapping identity cards and investing the money in beat policing would help give police in Brent the extra resources they require; and calls on the Government and the Metropolitan Police to safeguard the future of both police stations.
