PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN COMMUNITY BUILDINGS (18 October 2005)
Motion Details
That this House recognises the important role of community buildings in sustaining the social fabric of villages and other local communities; is aware that many such properties cannot provide a warm and comfortable environment for their 4.5 million users because of high energy costs and poor energy efficiency standards; supports the work of Ecocongregation, Community Matters, ACRE and NEA in lobbying for grant assistance to improve heating and insulation standards in these buildings; and calls on the Energy Saving Trust to mark Energy Saving Week by establishing a programme of grant aid to fund energy efficiency improvements in community buildings.
