PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CRIMINAL LEGAL AID REVIEW (11 October 2005)
Motion Details
That this House deplores the strike by barristers which is unacceptably designed to blackmail the Government into continuing to pay excessive legal aid fees for criminal court work; calls upon the Lord Chancellor to stand firm on the issue of reform of criminal legal aid; and further calls upon the Criminal Bar Association to work constructively with the Government, and in particular to await the legal aid review which is due to report in 2006.
