PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
LONG SERVICE MEDALS FOR PRISON OFFICERS (11 October 2005)

Motion Details

That this House calls on the Government to introduce a long-service medal for prison officers, in line with medals for other Crown servants like the police, to recognise properly that Prison Officers work in a difficult and pressurised environment often facing testing situations and that they do so with great professionalism and dedication; and believes that the current arrangements fail to do justice to their contribution to prison safety.
