PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
WASTE POLICY REFORM (18 July 2005)

Motion Details

That this House praises the Government for reviewing the national and local recycling targets in England; expresses disappointment that currently just 17 per cent. of household waste is recycled in England whereas in other European countries 50 per cent. of waste is recycled; notes that the recycling targets for England are too low; and calls on the Government to set higher national recycling targets, to create waste prevention targets for local authorities and to give councils the power to implement financial incentive schemes for household recycling.
