CAUSING DEATH BY CARELESS DRIVING (17 July 2005)
Motion Details
That this House acknowledges all the work done by many honourable Members to persuade the Government to strengthen road safety law; supports the Transport Committee's report Traffic Law and its Enforcement, which identifies the absence of an offence of causing death by careless driving; notes the recent Home Office, Department for Transport and Department for Constitutional Affairs consultation on road traffic offences involving bad driving; and calls on the Government to ensure that legislative changes are made to establish this offence.
