PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
LONDON ATTACKS AND THEIR EFFECT ON THE UK'S COMMUNITIES (12 July 2005)
Motion Details
That this House is heartened by the profound sense of unity in the UK since the terrible events of 7th July 2005; notes that all parties, all communities and every part of the UK have joined in condemning the violence against people of every religion and none; supports every effort that is made vigourously to pursue those responsible and bring them to justice; notes with sadness however the reports of over 100 separate racial attacks against members of the British Asian community since 7th July; and urges the Government to do everything in its power to ensure that those responsible are dealt with immediately so that nothing imperils the diverse and multicultural character of the UK.
