PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SWISS NATIONAL WOMEN'S STRIKE (9 June 1991)
Motion Details
That this House sends greetings to the National Women's Strike called by the Swiss TUC for 14th June 1991, supported by a sympathy strike called by the German Housewives Trade Union, which is a protest that after 10 years of equal rights legislation, equal pay for work of equal value has not been realised, that the contribution of women, especially the unpaid and underpaid contribution, remains unrecognised and undervalued and is demanding that unpaid women workers receive pensions and other benefits in their own right.
