PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
RETINAL SCREENING FOR DIABETICS (5 June 2005)

Motion Details

That this House welcomes Diabetes UK's current campaign, Action Today, Health Tomorrow, to raise awareness of the importance of annual retinal screening for all people with diabetes; notes that retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness in the working-age population; expresses concerns about a lack of knowledge among people with diabetes about the benefits of regular screening; and calls on the Government to ensure progress towards meeting the National Service Framework for Diabetes targets for preventing blindness in people with diabetes.
