PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
DISAPPEARANCE OF AFRICAN AND CARIBBEAN BOYS FROM LONDON SCHOOLS (5 June 2005)
Motion Details
That this House notes the alarming reports from children's charities revealing the disappearance of 300 African and Caribbean boys between the ages of four and seven from London schools over a three-month period; warns that this is indicative of an escalation of child trafficking for subversive purposes; calls on the Government to take urgent measures to establish the whereabouts of these missing boys; and to implement appropriate means of tracking the whereabouts and well-being of migrant children in the UK; recognises the need for the Departments responsible for education and for immigration to work more closely together to implement better systems of record keeping; and further calls on the Government to sign up to the new European Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings.
