PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CANCERBACUP (22 May 2005)
Motion Details
That this House notes that every week approximately one person in every UK parliamentary constituency is diagnosed with cancer, a prognosis which profoundly changes the lives of those directly affected, together with those of their families, friends and colleagues; recognises that in such charged circumstances it is vitally important that the provision of high quality information about all types of cancers and treatments is readily available to patients and their carers; pays tribute to the national charity in CancerBACUP, which every year speaks to an average 60,000 people affected by the disease, imparting information and in many instances advocating on their behalf; and calls upon the Government to do whatever it can to help them in their endeavours.
