PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS WEEK (7 March 2005)

That this House congratulates the Prostate Cancer Charity, the largest voluntary organisation focused on prostate health, for organising Prostate Cancer Awareness Week which is running from 21st to 27th March; welcomes the Charity's collaborative approach, involving many prostate cancer support groups, health care professionals, NHS units, schools and companies from across the UK; notes the Prostate Cancer Charity's innovative `beer mat' campaign aiming to raise awareness of prostate cancer issues through public houses in Liverpool, Bristol, Bradford, Birmingham and Glasgow; further notes the importance of this work given that nearly 90 per cent. of men do not know what the prostate gland does; and welcomes the Prostate Cancer Charity's range of high quality website, printed and helpline information resources.
