PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
INTERNATIONAL ARMS TRADE TREATY (26 November 2003)
Motion Details
That this House notes that the uncontrolled proliferation and misuse of arms is a global problem with local consequences; recognises that without tough international arms controls unregulated arms transfers will continue to fuel conflict, poverty and human rights violations around the world; further notes that arms brokers have been implicated in supplying weapons to the world's most affected regions; and calls on the Government to support efforts to establish a legally-binding International Arms Trade Treaty and fulfil its manifesto commitment to control UK arms brokers wherever they are located.
