PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
URGENT REVIEW OF MEMBERS' INCIDENTAL EXPENSE PROVISION (IEP) (14 January 2004)
Motion Details
That this House notes with considerable concern that the Incidental Expense Provision, covering honourable members' office running costs, is inadequate in its funding and is inflexible in its operation; and calls upon the House authorities urgently to review the IEP so as to substantially increase the allowance available thus enabling honourable Members to carry out their full and proper constitutional role as constituency honourable Members without having to have regard to arbitrary limits placed upon what can and cannot be afforded in the exercise of the said role.
