PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
50 YEARS AS A CRAWLEY COUNCILLOR (4 May 2004)

That this House congratulates Labour councillor A.C.W. (Bert) Crane on the 50th anniversary celebrations to mark his election to Horsham Rural District Council on 10th May 1954, than to Crawley Urban District Council and now Crawley Borough Council; recognises that for all of that time he has represented the people of West Green ward, the neighbourhood he has lived in for over 50 years; further recognises that his dedication, sacrifice and honesty is a fine example of a local government politician in his service to the people of Crawley; and wishes him well for his future as a councillor as he continues his work building a community in Crawley, of which he can be justly proud.
