PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
POST OFFICE CLOSURES IN PRESTON AND SOUTH RIBBLE (3 May 2004)

That this House notes the recent announcement of proposals by the Post Office to close the post offices at 85 Wellington Road, 30 Avenham Lane, 117 Norris Street, 56 Fishergate Hill, 33 Water Lane, in Preston constituency; recognises the current role of post offices in both urban and rural communities; and urges the Government to work with the Post Office to ensure every effort is made to keep post offices open.
